About
The Parkville Electronic Medical Record Diversity & Inclusion Project run by the Parkville Precinct, was a 12-month initiative that updated patient systems to capture gender identity, legal sex, sex at birth, sexual orientation, pronouns and chosen name in the EMR. Hospital team members could then access this information to better support and provide care for patients who are members of the LGBTIQA+ community, improving safety, wellbeing and the consumer experience.
This project is the first of its kind in Victoria where a collective of health services has come together and improved its medical records to better meet the needs of the LGBTIQA+ community.
