Zoom Meeting

About

Supporting Those at Risk (STAR) clinic offers support to young mothers and women with complex social and health issues, this may include drug and alcohol use,  victims of domestic violence, have mental health issues or are in contact with the Department of Child Protection.
This includes providing continuity of carer by a midwife and advocating on your behalf, with access to perinatal mental health and social work input as required.

The national standard is five antennal appointments and it used to sit below that for women with drug and alcohol use or women with Department of Child Protection involvement.
The STAR Antenatal Clinic has an average of 7.5 visits/women, and increase in birth weight and decrease in length of stay.

Non-judgemental, honest and totally transparent maternity care. “We treat the women with respect and let them know that someone is caring about them.”
