Alana is a registered Midwife at Blacktown Hospital, Sydney. Since 2016 she has worked within all areas of hospital based perinatal care including Midwifery group practice before starting her role with the Midwifery Antenatal and Postnatal Service in 2023.

About
Midwifery Antenatal and Postnatal Service (MAPS) is a Midwifery continuity of care model that is offered to women with varying psychosocial needs at Blacktown Hospital. MAPS is a team of five Midwives and one consulting Doctor. Each Midwife cares for a caseload of 4-7 women per month.
This presentation will showcase the benefits of a Midwifery lead continuity of care model and multidisciplinary case discussions for families with psychosocial needs and how early intervention and support can increase a woman’s satisfaction with their experience within the Maternity care system.
