Why is it a Hot Topic?
In 2019 WHA joined the Green & Healthy Hospitals network as part of our commitment to reducing the impact of healthcare on the environment. Amidst increasing evidence that global warming is having significant impact on the health and wellbeing of our communities, WHA is committed to supporting member health services to share know-how, ideas and strategies to:
- Increase their use of renewable energy.
- Source sustainably grown/manufactured food and other supplies.
- Minimise water generation and greenhouse emissions.
- Recycle water.
