The use of progesterone pessaries can help prevent early birth, and is one of the seven key strategies being implemented by participating maternity services across Australia as part of the Every Week Counts – National Preterm Birth Prevention Collaborative. The Australian Preterm Birth Prevention Alliance (the Alliance) created a brochure for women which outlines what progesterone is and how it is used.
