Miscarriage Awareness Campaign Launch

In Australia, an estimated 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage. That means approximately 285 families are affected by miscarriage every day.

The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing has developed a national miscarriage education and awareness program, informed by significant consultation and testing with key audiences of the resources, experts, key advocacy groups and people with lived experience. The program includes a toolkit of resources that aim to raise awareness of miscarriage amongst the general population (including what it is, how common it is, and the impacts it can have), to make space for more open conversation, understanding and compassion

These resources have been designed to guide people through supporting friends or loved ones experiencing miscarriage and early pregnancy loss. With your support in sharing these resources, we can equip individuals with greater knowledge about what miscarriage is and the compassion needed to navigate what can be a very sensitive topic.
