The WHA Team Medal of Distinction recognises exceptional teamwork and collaboration that has made a significant contribution to improving the care, health and wellbeing of women, newborns and their families.

2026 Team Medal of Distinction Award

The medal may be awarded to teams from WHA member and non-member organisations. Please provide clear examples of the team’s initiatives, innovations and achievements against each of the selection criteria below. Where possible, include evidence that demonstrates the team’s contribution and impact.

Description and Evidence (Maximum 150 words per criterion)

Please ensure each section is completed, as nominations will be assessed against all selection criteria. Provide clear examples and supporting evidence wherever possible to help the judging panel understand the team’s contribution, achievements and impact on the care, health and wellbeing of women, newborns and their families.
Describe how the team has improved the experiences, care, health or wellbeing of women and/or newborns through innovation or service improvement. Include clear examples and, where possible, evidence of impact or outcomes.
Describe how the team has meaningfully partnered with women, families and/or communities to improve healthcare services or experiences. Include examples of how consumer perspectives, lived experience or community needs informed the team’s work.
Describe how the team has demonstrated leadership or advocacy and shared its knowledge, innovation or learnings with others. Include examples of broader influence or impact beyond the team’s immediate service.
