EVENT: Greening the Healthcare Sector Forum – Friday 7th October

At WHA we are seeing rising concern across the maternity care sector about the negative impacts of climate change on the health and wellbeing of women and newborns. It is important that we ensure that the clinical care provided to women and their newborns does not negatively impact the environment in which they live.

The Greening the Healthcare Forum, proudly co-hosted by the Climate and Health Alliance, the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals Network (GGHH Pacific) and the Hunter New England Local Health District (HNE Health), is a valuable opportunity for WHA members to connect, share knowledge, learn and upskill to reduce the carbon footprint of their health services.

This one-day Forum will showcase the ways health sector leaders in Australia are decarbonising their operations, improving their climate resilience, and working to improve health equity. It provides a chance to discuss how we can scale this up, as well as insights to support health services to prepare for the impacts of climate change, and uphold its moral imperative to: ‘first, do no harm’.
