You are invited to participate in a research study exploring midwives’ knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding climate change and environmentally friendly healthcare initiatives. A team of researchers from a university collaborative is conducting this study.
Purpose of the study: Healthcare systems worldwide contribute significantly to carbon emissions and environmental degradation. Midwives play a critical role in healthcare delivery and have unique opportunities to implement sustainable practices. This research aims to understand midwives’ awareness of climate change issues, attitudes toward environmentally friendly healthcare, and barriers to implementing sustainable practices.
What participation involves: Participation involves completing an online survey that will take approximately 15-20 minutes of your time.
The survey includes questions about:
- Your knowledge of climate change and its health implications
- Your attitudes toward climate change in relation to midwifery

- Workplace training on sustainable practices
- our use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Barriers to implementing environmentally friendly healthcare
You will also be asked to provide non-identifying demographic information such as age range, sex, education level, years of experience, level of seniority, country, area of practice, and your role in midwifery.
