WHA Directors of Nursing & Midwifery Face to Face Insight Forum 2020

WHA's Directors of Nursing & Midwifery Special Interest Group brings together individuals in common roles across the maternity sector, from large tertiary specialist women's hospitals through to regional and rural hospitals providing maternity care to local women & their families.  If you are a Director of Nursing and Midwifery, this meeting provides you with a unique opportunity to network with peers who intimately understand the challenges and responsibilities you have.  The group has a long history of trusted sharing of information, ideas and advice that can help you achieve your goals.

In 2018 the SIG members decided to focus on expanding women's access to continuity of midwifery care.  This meeting provided an opportunity for participants to discuss a range of common challenges and to share information, ideas and strategies on effective ways of sustaining and expanding Midwifery Group Practice at their services.

What will the program cover?

The program has been devloped in consultation with the Directors of Nursing and Midwifery.  Key themes in previous years have included:

• Service Improvements - no brainers!
• Engaging Women in designing services

• Trends from WHA Clinical Benchmarking data
• Growing and sustaining MGP
• Graduate Midwives in Caseload Models: it does work!

Who should attend?

This meeting is only open to individuals from WHA member hospitals in the position of Director of Nursing & Midwifery or above.

Further details of the venue and the agenda will be confirmed early in 2020.
