Rural and remote maternity service delivery has unique and complex challenges that require innovation solutions. This web conference is really an opportunity to connect with your peers to discuss the Workforce and Recruitment Challenges and Opportunities at your service. There is not an expectation that anyone has all the answers but it is an opportunity for you to connect and share your challenges, achievements, and strategies to reduce the impact of staff losses, burn-out and low morale.  

We recognise the challenges you are facing of midwifery shortages, sustainability of services, and workforce recruitment while you are desperately trying to maintain your current workforce and valiantly supporting resilience and wellbeing to avoid further attrition. 

There is a growing demand and insufficient time for service delivery with the ever-present bureaucracy creep (extra documentation, reporting, auditing, compliance etc). 

During this web conference we will:

• commence with introductions
• discuss workforce issues such as experienced staff losses, recruitment, and the practical and effective supervision of an inexperienced workforce
