Apply to participate in the Collaborative as a Consumer
Consumers are being sort to participate in the Collaborative in a range of ways, including;
1. Involvement in the Expert Panel
This is a one day meeting that will be held face to face in Melbourne in August to inform the program content
2. Participation in a Consumer Advisory Group
Depending on interest and availability members may lead or support the development of content, support teaching of content and provide feedback to project team on matter of importance to consumer
3. Completion of a survey on your lived experience of preterm or early term birth
What experience is needed?
We are seeking a range of experiences to participate including women*, partners and support people with recent lived experience of care related to the prevention of preterm or early term birth. Including those;
- whose baby was born preterm
- who have received intervention during their pregnancy to prevent preterm birth
- whose baby was born by caesarean section or induction of labour between 37 – <39 weeks
- with experience or knowledge that would help inform strategies to safely extend pregnancy to 39 weeks
Expressions of interest will be reviewed against the following criteria:
- relevant experience of the healthcare system as a patient or carer
- relevant experience as a consumer representative
- interest and availability to participate in the activities of the Collaborative (face to face meetings, web conference and electronic communication)
- ability to communicate in a way that generates enthusiasm, a commitment to improvement and promotes a consumer centred approach
Reimbursement
Consumers will be reimbursed for their time on a per session basis according to agreed fee structure. Consumer will be asked to complete a reimbursement form or submit an invoice for payment. Travel will be paid for consumer to attend learning session and the expert panel meeting.
